SportA is the Sports Rights Agency of ARD and ZDF. The agency is located in Munich and was established as a subsidiary of ARD and ZDF in 1995.

We acquire media rights to national and international sports events for the use of ARD, ZDF and the regional channels of ARD; we also gladly provide interested parties with rights to use these events e.g. on TV and websites as well as on mobile end devices both in the country and abroad.

We have a greatly diversified portfolio of transmission rights at our disposal and have been cooperating with over 60 renowned and globally significant sports associations, organisers and other agencies for many years now.

Our portfolio consists of outstanding sports events such as the Olympic Games, the FIFA World Cup as well as the UEFA EURO™, the games of the German national men’s and women’s football teams and those for the club titles of the German Football Association as well as top events in track and field, swimming and handball, not to mention a great number of winter sports events e.g. world championships and world cups in skiing, biathlon, bobsleighing and luge.  Our rich portfolio of rights is completed by top-class events e.g. in the equestrian sport, table tennis or hockey. Furthermore, over 30 top sports associations such as the German Rowing Association, the German Canoeing Association and the German Speed Skating Association, all of which are organised in the German Olympic Sports Confederation (Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund), constitute important partners for SportA.

Partnership with sports associations and rights holders enables an extraordinary range of sports coverage and thus makes it possible to reach media users from all age groups.
